The ABS is Australia’s national statistical agency, providing trusted official statistics on a wide range of economic, social, population and environmental matters of importance to Australia.
We have an important leadership role, coordinating statistical activities and collaborating with official bodies in the collection, compilation, analysis and distribution of statistics. This assists in maximising the value of government investment on these activities, and ensures outputs are fit-for-purpose.

Roles available for Graduates
In your application you will be asked to nominate one of three streams: Methodology, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Statistical and Business Solutions.
Degree subjects required for Graduates wishing to apply
Methodology stream: Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics or related fields (often at the Honours level).
ICT stream: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information and Communications Technology, Infrastructure Design and Support, Information Management, Librarianship, Business Management, Project Management, Web Design and Development, Architecture, Business Analysis, Business Informatics.
Statistical and Business Solutions stream: Graduates suitable for this stream will have qualifications across a wide range of disciplines.
