The Greater Graduate Program offers a unique opportunity to build a meaningful career and grow with the Queensland Government. The Program provides recent university graduates with an opportunity to work within one of four departments at the QLD Government. The Department of Environment and Science, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy and the Department of Innovation, Tourism Industry Development and the Commonwealth Games.

 

Our work is developed and implemented through a lens of economic, social and environmental considerations. Graduates will work with and learn from experts in a range of fields to ensure our advice, policies and programs meet the needs and expectations of the people of Queensland.



Locations where there are vacancies for graduates 

Graduates join the program from all over Australia and are placed in regional and Brisbane locations. Our location requirements vary each year based on the role and business unit needs and government priorities.

 

Residency requirements for Graduates wishing to apply

You must :

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident at the time of submitting your application or

  • be a New Zealand citizen who is currently residing in Australia

 

Roles available for Graduates 

Recruitment for the 2019 program has been finalised and we are no longer taking applications. We will begin recruiting for the 2020 program in September 2019 via the Queensland Government Graduate Portal.



Degree subjects required for Graduates wishing to apply

Our graduate requirements vary each year. We are generally looking for graduates from the following disciplines:
