The Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities is seeking graduates from all disciplines who are keen to build their professional public sector skills, while working in a department that is at the forefront of the Australian Government’s efforts to secure the nation’s economic future and living standards. Our 11-month graduate program is designed to provide you with accelerated career progression, with the advancement to the APS Level 5 on completion of the program.
As a graduate in the department, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects and key business areas related to:
Infrastructure planning, investment, financing and coordination;
Regional development, policy and coordination;
Major projects facilitation;
Civil aviation and airports;
Territories’ reform and service delivery; and
Local government programs.
The program includes a variety of exciting developmental opportunities, including:
Three workplace rotations across the department;
Coordination and participation in corporate events;
Tailored learning and development opportunities based on your interests and career aspirations;
Career coaching opportunities;
Undertaking a post-graduate qualification; and
An interstate Industry Tour, giving you the opportunity to meet and work with our Senior Executives while researching and critically analysing the ‘real world’ functions of the department.

Degree subjects required for Graduates wishing to apply
To be eligible, applicants must have completed a minimum of a three year undergraduate degree by January 2019, and have completed their degree within the last 5 years.
