Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) moves and connects people, places,

goods and services safely, efficiently and effectively across Queensland. Our vision is to

create a single integrated transport network accessible to everyone.

 

Every day Queenslanders rely on the transport network to get them to work, to school,

and to health care. As the most decentralised state in Australia, transport is a key driver

of economic growth, and we are at the front line of planning, developing and maintaining the extensive network required to keep Queensland moving.

 

We lead emerging technologies, so our transport network meets the needs of our customers now and into the future. Our workforce of more than 8800 employees across the state deliver our core business through four key services:

  • Transport system investment planning and programming

  • Transport infrastructure management and delivery

  • Transport safety, regulation and customer service

  • Passenger transport services

 

No department has a bigger role to play in keeping Queensland moving, or in helping build for the future than TMR.

Roles available for Graduates

Our graduate requirements vary each year. We are generally looking for graduates from the following disciplines: accounting, finance, business, communications, economics environmental science, environmental management, cultural heritage, human resources, law, data science and analytics, engineering (civil, computer, electrical and mechatronics), ICT systems analysis, surveying or transport/urban planning.
